Hello! I hope you are all doing well and that you know how much I appreciate your patience with me as I’ve been slower in getting around to posting the past few months!!
The past few months have been intense both in getting our current home ready to be put on the market, lots of showings, etc. and for making decisions for and supplying products for our new home (all on top of having 4 kids). Phew, I’m exhausted!!:-)
The good news is that we are in contract to sell our home (after a month of showings)! And it looks like we will be able to move into our new home in mid-January if all goes as planned! But between now and then I have a feeling things are going to continue to be pretty intense!!
But, wow, has a lot gotten done in the past month on our new home!
This is a picture I shared last time…
and look at it now!
The stairs got painted and stained and this Wednesday the stair runner is suppose to be installed!
The lighting got installed!
Most of the flooring got installed!! The carpet in the bedrooms get installed on Wednesday.
And the kitchen backsplash got installed!
And currently there is a wall oven in the middle of the kitchen because the appliances have only been half installed (but half installed is better than none).
The cabinet tower door on the right was suppose to be a single glass door so it’s replacement is on the way. Also still waiting on cabinet door knobs and pulls (I ordered the knobs but still waiting on myself to decide on the pulls, lol).
I purchased some Ballard Design barstools when they had their Black Friday deals. I brought one over to the new house to see how it would look and I was a little disappointed that the color of the island and the stool weren’t more similar.
What do you think?? Does the gray and greige clash next to each other?
The pantry got a light fixture and some paint! I’m still considering doing wallpaper in here.
This is our laundry room/mudroom right now and I am still thinking about what direction I want to take this room. It’s like a blank slate which can be fun and overwhelming at the same time.
And here is my husband’s office so far!
There are still A LOT of loose ends to pull together in the next month! We’ll see what happens!
Although I want to touch base again before Christmas I know realistically it probably won’t happen with all I still need to get done! So I want to wish you Merry Christmas early! I hope your Christmas is filled with love and comfort and joy in your heart.
I know there are troubling things going on in the world and that life isn’t often easy but I also know that there is a light that we can always hold on to, the Savior of the World.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). This video always helps me put everything in perspective and fills my heart with love and gratitude!
Merry Christmas and Holiday!!
You will be so pleased how fast all the things left will get done. You home is going to be lovely. What I am seeing now is beautiful. It will be fun, fun adding all your furniture and decor. Hopefully the weather will not be a problem for you when the time comes to move in.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy New Year. ?
Thank you, Mary!! I too am hoping the weather cooperates come mid-January. When we moved to our current home there was a tornado warning going on–it made it very memorable to say the least!
Merry Christmas ?!! So nice to see your new build coming along!! We loved having the opportunity to build a new home 2 1/2 years ago!! Very happy with all of our choices, as you seem to be with yours!! Just lovely!
Thank you, Mary Anne! I’m so curious if in 2 1/2 years I will have any particular regrets. I’ve tried to make decisions based on the present and the future but you just never know. It’s been a stressful process at times but mostly really fascinating learning all the steps that go into building a home.
Everything is coming together and looks great so far. I don’t know if I like the color of the bar stools with the island color either.
Thank you, Ella! I know it’s a tricky one! I’m wondering if when all of the furnishings and decor get in if it won’t be as distracting. I do really like the shape, style, and comfort of the chairs though so we will see.
Beautiful! Are you going to have shutters or leave them as they are? Is this in increase in square feet? It looks like it. So fun!
Did you have to sand your cupboards before you painted them ? I couldn’t find the tutorial . Thanks
