Tool Time with Tamara- How to Use a Miter Saw

Happy Friday!!  I hope you’ve had a great week!  Today I am sharing my favorite Mother’s Day gift I’ve ever received and how to use it!

I know many women want flowers or jewelry for Mother’s Day but 6 years ago I asked for something that I had been wanting for awhile…drum roll… a Miter Saw (I know the title of the post probably already gave it away).:-)

As you may know DIY projects are not my husband’s thing and I learned early in our marriage that if I wanted our marriage to last  home to be beautiful and more the way I wanted it then I was going to have to do it myself!

As I mentioned in THIS post adding decorative trim to your home is one of the best ways to add beauty, character, and value to your home.  Decorative moldings like board and batten, wainscoting, and crown molding take a space from “eh” to “ooolala”.:-)

With all the different kinds of trim I have added to our home I am so glad that I invested in a miter saw.  I only wish I would have bought it sooner (in our condo I used a hand saw to make cuts and it was no bueno)!

Using a miter saw is so easy!  I made you a video tutorial (below) in hopes that it will give you the confidence that you are indeed very capable of using a miter saw too.

At the end of the video I share some of the projects I’ve completed using a miter saw.

If you are in the market for a miter saw (a Mother’s or Father’s Day present?) I can’t recommend mine enough!  I’ve abused used it for the past 6 years and it is still going strong.  I do think I will need to sharpen or replace the blade in the next little while but that is to be expected after 6+ years.

For your convenience I have attached a link to the exact miter saw I have, HERE! (affiliate link)

I hope if you haven’t already used a miter saw that this post has helped you feel more comfortable with the prospect!  It’s a must if you plan on doing any kind of trim work in your home.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Have a beautiful weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all of the women!
