Hello! Happy weekend! It’s been a cold winter so far in Ohio and to stay warm and cozy I have been layering my clothes everyday. This is pretty much the coat I have been wearing 24/7 to keep me warm and I love it (you can click on the image of it to get the source).
Just like how in the winter we layer clothes to be cozy we also use layers in design to keep a space feeling warm and inviting. You can read a post all about using layers in design, HERE!
One of my favorite decor accents to use for layering are throws! I like buying relatively thin throws so that I can use them in my spaces all year round. You can see in this picture that in my family room I have two throws to cozy up the space.
Other than on sofas, chairs, and benches another place I love to use lightweight throws is at the end of a bed. Here are some beautiful examples!

I absolutely love THIS throw blanket from Nordstrom but it’s $140 which seems steep for a lightweight blanket.
I have found that Target and Homegoods have the best prices on throws. They often have beautiful throws for $35 and under!
Here’s an example of a Target blanket I’ve been eyeing–it comes in 5 different colors and gets great reviews. It ranges from $21 to $35 depending on size. You can click HERE for the direct link to it.
A new inexpensive source for lightweight throws that I recently found are Turkish towels! They are beautiful and super versatile!
They are made from a premium cotton which makes them softer, lightweight, and absorb water well (hence they are used as towels).
They have a variety of sizes and their common 39″ x 70″ size is perfect for an end of a bed or sofa throw.
I have found the best prices for these on Amazon. Here are a few of my favorites (all being around $20 and coming in several different colors)!
You can click on the word “SOURCE” below the picture of the one you like to get the price and color options!
It looks like this pretty bathroom used the one above as a towel.

I’ve thought about purchasing a smaller size one like these below as towels to clean my face with at night.
Have you ever used Turkish towels (either as a throw or towel)? Where are your go-to places to find nice throws for decent prices? Would love to hear!
I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!!

I am a shopoholic for throws and Turkish towels. Here, in the UK, my favourite place to buy them is TK Maxx and its sister chain Homesense. Some of the items are still unused with the labels attached. We are gradually renovating the house and whenever I find something that will look great in the future room, I buy it. So there is a small collection. My daughter got married several months ago, they bought their first house and I was more than happy to show them all the decorative items I have bought but haven’t used yet, and they took whatever they needed and liked.
Tamara, I read in one of your previous posts that you are going to build a new house. Congratulations! Why do you want to move, if you don’t mind me asking? I remember an old post about how you bought your current house, it was a lovely story.
Hi, Val! Your daughter is lucky to get some of your great finds!:-). Yep we are thinking about possibly building a house this year (not sure quite yet). I don’t mind you asking why at all. I have had a few others ask to so I think I will respond in my next post. Have a wonderful week!
